I
do not make my living raising American Bulldogs. I raise these fine bulldogs
because I genuinely feel they are the best breed around as far as for estate
protection and as a catch dog. My dogs are family raised and cared for on our
property. Not one of my dogs are on a chain and spend their lives just producing
puppies. On a daily basis I work with and handle all my dogs, as well as ride
them in my truck everywhere I go. Most folks around here will tell you I am
the man with the dogs in the back of my pickup truck. I personally chose the
American Bulldog breed for home protection and for a catch dog.
I first became an American Bulldog owner for home protection as I said because
unfortunately after a break in on my wife and several items stolen from our
property I began looking for additional "safety measures". I had
heard of this breed of dogs but I personally had only dealt with hound dogs,
which aren't exactly known for there "guard ability". I also took
in consideration need of a guard dog as well as a breed that worked well with
children as my dog would be a family dog also, not just an attack dog. After
researching the matter, I decided on the American Bulldog and have never regretted
it. Our two sons have been around all our dogs since they were toddlers, and
my bulldogs have never shown anything toward them but affection and protection.
By the way, we have not had any more break-ins or anything stolen since we
have had our American Bulldogs.
